[edit] History
During the Hive Queen's time as a larva, she was picked by the other Hive Queens to be the one to travel to another world in order to save the Formic species from extinction in the upcoming First Xenocide. When the time came to begin maturity, the Hive Queen mated by biting the head off a drone and encased herself in a cocoon. The cocoon was sent off the Bugger Homeworld to a colony to be discovered by the Ender Wiggin that had destroyed their planet.
When Ender met the Hive Queen as the governer of a colony, he took the responsibility of finding a suitable environment for the Hive Queen to start a nest to restart her species. During the period of searching, the Hive Queen was almost a friend to Ender, though was concealed and sometimes regarded as intrusive. Nearly twenty relatavistic years later, around three thousand actual years after the Xenocide, the Hive Queen hatched on her designated spot on Lusitania, where she started a secret nest.
Over the next few decades, the Hive Queen had built a hive of activity, technologically capable of building starships. During this time, she befriended the Fathertree Human, and the Formics and Pequeninos communicated by biological ansible frequently.
In a conversation with Ender Wiggin some time before the Second Xenocide, she helped Ender discover, however unintentionally, the essence of Jane and clues to find a means of faster-than-light travel.
